We know it’s been a long, disappointing and dreary road without some Shakti Mohan action on tube. This petite and talented girl wowed everyone with her sexy moves in Zee TV’s Dance India Dance. But it was Channel V’s Dil Dostii Dance, which put her on a pedestal of Himalayan popularity. It was nothing less than a tsunami strike for her fans when the news of her quitting the show hit the headlines. Fans moaned and groaned in utter despair coated with excessive disappointment. During our April Fools’ edition, we crafted and published a fictional story of she retuning to D3, and the news spread like forest fire. Sadly, Shakti is far from getting back in the show, in spite of fans flooding her inbox with messages beseeching her to come back.
“It was a great experience after winning DID and people also loved me as an actor. And to make it more specific, D3 has a younger fan following and these fans are more sensitive and crazy for the show and that’s the reason even now I get mails and messages to make a comeback,” says the super popular actress.
She quit D3 almost six to seven months back. So why did she opt to exit at a time when she was being loved by the masses? “My contract was getting over at the end of December (2011) and instead of renewing it for just a few months, I decided to call it off. I gave preference to my dance training,” she clarifies.
By the way, she has been further honing her dancing skills and will travel abroad in May or June (2012) to learn a few more impressive (dance) moves.
So any plans to return to D3? “No, not at all, I won’t be back in the show as it is not possible for me now.” We know, you guys are heartbroken, but as they say, all good things come to an end someday.
Moving on, at the professional front, she has already shaken her hips and done an item number for the upcoming movie, Rowdy Rathore, and will also be seen in Urja Production’s next movie titled, Tera Gaon, Mera Gaon.
“I will not only dance but also act. The shooting will begin by the end of May (2012),” she concludes with a smile.
Shakti, you are amazingly beautiful and we hope that you conquer greater heights in life. Cheers!!!
