Life began with waking up and loving my mother's face- George Eliot (novelist)
Shweta Kawatra who has acted in shows like Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Kkusum and C.I.D. completed a year of motherhood yesterday (11 May 2013). Her beautiful baby daughter Zahra-Tabeetha Gohil just turned a year old. She is married to actor Manav Gohil (The Buddy Project)
The beautiful actress would go on talking to her baby from the time her pregnancy had been detected. “I have heard many mothers say that they were unable to connect with their baby. When she was born I felt as if I had known her for a very long time as I had been communicating with her for months. When I held her in my arms for the very first time I assured her that both her parents would take care of her and she needn’t be afraid of the bright lights of this big world.”
Shweta says that she didn’t really have to prepare for motherhood. She explains, “It is your child who readies you for motherhood. Once your child falls into your lap, she automatically prepares you for motherhood.”
How does she bond with her baby? “We bond over music, nursery rhymes and girly talk. Nowadays she responds to me with her childlike babble. I am trying to decode her baby talk.”
What has motherhood taught her? “In this big bad world adults become worldly and jaded. Babies teach moms unalloyed innocence.”
