MUMBAI: Krishna Janmashtami (also called Krishnashtami, Janmashtami, or Gokulashtami) commemorates the birth of Krishna, the eighth avatar of Vishnu. As the nation gathers to celebrate the occasion with a ‘Dahi Handi’ activity today (August 27, 2024), Shivya Pathania, who seems to be a firm believer of Lord Krishna, celebrates the festival by praying to Lord Krishna at Swastik Bhoomi.
Colors recently introduced a mythological show based on the story of the divine couple Lakshmi and Narayan through its show ‘Lakshmi Narayan - Sukh Saamarthya Santoolan'. Shivya Pathania was cast to play Lakshmi. Srikant Dwivedi was cast to play Lord Narayan.
Produced by Siddharth Kumar Tewary under Swastik Productions, the show aimed at presenting the eternal love story of Lakshmi and Narayan. (Also Read: “My hard work paid off”- says Shivya Pathania)
In an exclusive conversation with TellyChakkar, Shivya and Srikant opened up on his Janmashtami memories.
Srikant shared, “Back in my hometown, there was a police station right in front of my building and every once in a year, they used to call us kids and distribute lunch. As a child I did not understand and thought that they were being kind and did not understand the logic behind it, but now I know that Janmashtami is the day when Lord Krishna was born in a jail. That is the reason behind the police celebrating it in full fervour and how they dance and make merry.”
Shivya added, “I have celebrated by swinging Krishna’s swing and otherwise I have seen in movies more about how people dress as Govinda.” (Also Read: Janmashtami 2024: Lakshmi Narayan actress Shivya Pathania celebrates the festival at Swastik Bhoomi by performing pooja)
