Jay Soni, Pankit Thakker to play leads in SAB TV's next; Rakesh Bedi roped in

Jay Soni, Pankit Thakker to play leads in SAB TV

It seems like Jay Soni has developed a liking to the comedy genre. After hosting SAB TV’s Comedy Superstar, Jay has now bagged the lead role in a comedy rom com on SAB TV, to be produced by Ratna Sinha’s Chhota Ganpati Telecreations, who has made shows like Do Saheliyaan earlier.

Jay Soni will join hands with the ‘Comedy King’ Pankit Thakker, and the duo will play lead faces of the show. The channel and makers have also roped in veteran actor Rakesh Bedi to play Jay Soni’s father, is what we hear.

As we know, Soni was supposed to be part of the Chamatkar remake on TV for Zee TV. However, with the show getting scrapped, Soni is looking at challenging male oriented lead roles.

And for Pankit, we hear that the same show was offered to him last year too. He could not take it up then as he was already busy shooting for Bahu Humari Rajni_kant. But now with the offer knocking at his doors again, he has apparently grabbed it.

We tried calling Pankit, but did not get through to him.

Jay Soni told us, “Talks are on, but there is nothing that is final.”

We could not get through to Rakesh Bedi for a comment.

We tried buzzing Producer Ratna Sinha, but were unsuccessful in our attempts. We also dropped a text to the SAB TV spokesperson, but received no revert.
