MUMBAI: Sasural Simar Ka will soon return on the small screens.
The show, in the first season, narrated a tale of sisters Simar and Roli share a very close bond with each other. They eventually marry two brothers, Prem and Sid, and live in the Bharadwaj household facing all their problems together. The show eventually turned into a supernatural show and was massively loved by the audience. The show ran for almost 7 years from 2011 to 2018 starring Dipika Kakar, Avika Gor, Shoaib Ibrahim, Manish Raisinghania, Keerti Gaekwad Kelkar among others.
Colors recently announced a press conference for the launch of Sasural Simar Ka 2.
This season will feature Radhika Muthukumar, Tanya Sharma, Avinash Mukherjee and Karan Sharma in titular roles and the show will revolve around the complex relationship of the two Narayan Sisters, Simar and Reema with the Oswal Brothers, Aarav and Vivaan. As compared to the character of Mataji, Gitanjali Devi Oswal, the dominant matriarch of Oswal Mansion asks her sister, Nirmala Devi Bharadwaj’s (Mataji) daughter-in-law, Simar Bharadwaj to find two daughter-in-laws for the Oswal family who can maintain the house and keep the family united as her first priority, just the way Simar is doing and did in her younger days for the Bharadwaj’s.
In conversation with Jayati who will be seen in a double role Mataji and Geetanjali Devi, she said, “Geetanjali Devi Oswal is similar to Mataji but not the same. At intervals, the audience will remember Mataji while seeing Geetanjali Devi as they are related but Geetanjali Devi is today’s woman and is someone who runs a business and handles her home simultaneously. She is the woman of 2021 and the audience will be able to relate to her. Geetanjali Devi is also worldly wise. So Geetanjali Devi Oswal and Mataji are two sides of the same coin.”
