MUMBAI: Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa is one of television's most loved dance reality shows.
Many celebrities have been contestants on the show. They are given a choreographer to perform with, and based on the judge’s points and the audience’s votes; they continue their journey or get eliminated.
The show has had nine successful seasons. The last one was a telecast from 2016 to 2017, and post that, the makers decided to scrap the show owing to low TRPs.
Dance Deewane replaced the show but now, the channel has since decided to get the dance reality show back.
The show was judged by Karan Johar, Nora Fatehi, and Madhuri Dixit, while Maniesh Paul is the host of the show.
The show has finally come to an end. Gunjan, along with her partner Tejas, and choreographer Sagar was declared the winner of the show.
TellyChakkar got in touch with them and asked them what their fondest memory from the show was.
What are your feelings post winning the show?
Gujan : I am very happy and excited. We have finally managed to win the hearts of the audience. In my dreams, I had seen that I was winning the show, and I finally won.
Tejas : Feeling very good. All the shows that I was a part of, I managed to reach the finale but never won. So, this time the feeling was amazing and that moment was amazing and exciting.
Sagar : Like they said, we all were a part of a dance reality show before, but never won. We all came together for this show and we finally took home the trophy. The feeling cannot be defined.
Which is that one moment which is very special for you in this journey?
Gunjan : For me, the best moment was when Karan Johar said that here there is another show going on with us called ‘Gunjan Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’, and that compliment was priceless.
Tejas : For me, all the moments were priceless, and I can’t pick one.
Sagar: All the moments were special. The experience of working with children wasn’t that easy. They have been scolded, but post that they performed well. What matters is that 3 minutes of dance and I am very proud of them.
Which is the best performance on the show?
Sagar : It’s a very difficult choice, but I can pick three performances - Mani Cake, Apsara, and Huma Huma, which all got a standing ovation.
Who do you think was your toughest competitor in the show?
Tejas: No one was a tough competitor as there were non-dancers who were dancing, and they were so hard working and gave their best on the stage.
Well, there is no doubt that Gunjan was a fabulous dancer and she deserved to take the trophy home.
