Tellychakkar got in touch with Karuna, where we asked her about her decision of becoming an actor, her first break and much more.

As the show is doing amazingly well, what can the viewers expect from its upcoming track?

We are very thankful that the audience has accepted us. The show is doing well and we want it to do even better. So, I appeal to the audience to please keep watching the show and spreading the good word about it because we are putting our heart and soul in it. About the upcoming track, the audiences can expect different emotions, exciting twists and turns, and entertainment with drama and realism. They will relate and get entertained by it. It’s going to be a very colourful and happy show. The upcoming episode will be strong, positive and it will spread goodness. The audience will be happy and satisfied. Of course, there will be suspense. Some tracks will give you butterflies in your stomach and will be intriguing. It’s going to be a rollercoaster ride of emotions.

How and when did you decide to become an actress?

I was always a dancer. I had that dance factor in me like making expressions and watching movies. I don’t remember myself thinking of something else but yes, in my school time, I wanted to be a police officer because I always fight for the right things. Later, I wanted to be a choreographer as dance was my first love and I eventually learnt ‘Bharatnatyam’ and ‘Kathak’ in tits-bits since my dad was posted in Chennai. Further, I even started teaching dance to people of different ages. Slowly and slowly I discovered that it is all interrelated. I realized that I am an artist and this is what I want to do. So at a very young age, I decided that this will be my journey. Later, I did my masters in theatre and acting and the rest is history.

How did you get your first break? What role was it?

When I came to Mumbai, my first film was directed by Raj and Sippy and produced by Mr. Om Bajaj. So, that was the first thing I auditioned for after coming to Mumbai. I even bagged the movie on the basis of my audition but that film didn’t release, unfortunately.  After some time, I entered the television industry with Rajshri Production’s Rehne Wali Mehalo Ki. My journey with Rajshri Production has been long and very interesting. I did 6 shows under their banner.
