Even the mention of this term invokes a warm feeling in the hearts of Bengalis all over the world. Such is its spark and magic!

Mahalaya is a kind of invitation to Goddess Durga to descend on earth. It is observed seven days before the Durga Puja.

To mark this auspicious occasion, Zee Bangla has geared up to showcase ‘Mahisasurmardini Nobo Rupe Nobo Durga’.

The show will narrate how Goddess Durga had destroyed the Mahisasura and the entire tale revolving around her.

As per legend, a fierce battle took place between them, where the deity had killed the 'Asura' king with her trident and brought happiness in the world once again. 

And guess who will essay the role of Maa Durga? 

Well, it’s the talented actress Koel Mullick, who was last seen in films like ‘Besh Korechi Prem Korechi’ and ‘Highway’ (Bengali).

The show will feature this pretty actress enacting the nine different avatars of Durga.
