Kyunki's Shobha down on her back

Star Parivaar Awards has ended with galore and fun. Most actors could be a part of the gala nite except for the little lady who won the 'Best Nanand (sister-in-law) award'. Ritu Choudhary who plays Shobha in Kyunki... has been confined to her bed since three weeks. She has a back ailment. "One day, I was getting out from my car and couldn't walk any further. I consulted my doctor only to realise that something has gone wrong in the muscle in my back," explains Ritu, flashing her soft smile.

I consulted my doctor only to realise that something has gone wrong in the muscle in my back," explains Ritu, flashing her soft smile. "I am in bed. But I don't have traction on," she says with hardly any enthusiasm. This pretty dame who earlier could just manage to watch Kyunki..., now knows the entire TV schedule by heart! "I watch TV all day. Now I know all the ad jingles, I know the timings of all shows and I also know which movie premieres when!," she flashes with mischief. "I have been reading Archies comics and any other books that my sister gets," she adds. "I can't even eat food. Since I am on bed, even eating is a job," she says with disappointment. But cheers up saying, "I feel nice when Shilpa (Saklani), Riva (Bubber) and Ronit (Roy) come to see me". In all this tryst of fighting the boredom winning the Best Nanand Award at the Star Parivaar Awards felt like an oasis in desert. "I wish I was there! It would have been great pleasure to share my joy with everyone," she confides. So how long will the Kyunki... fans miss their dear character Shobha? 'I don't know. I have an elaborate session with the physiotherapist to follow," she tells. Well, highs and lows are an inevitable part of life. But one gathers Ritu is adept at living with them.
