MUMBAI: Actor Pranav Sachdeva, who is part of the show Pyaar Ka Professor, says that while he carefully selects his roles, the fate of a show is not entirely in an actor’s hands. However, he adds that while he loves all parts of a show, he is fonder of longer roles as it helps him delve into his character better.
“I understand the value of smaller roles that are crucial to the story – every part, no matter the size, contributes to the bigger picture. However, my love for acting makes me strive for lengthier, bigger parts so that I can act more but it’s always about the story first- The weight of responsibility grows, but it’s something I embrace because it allows me to dive deeper into characters and narratives that I truly care about,” he says.
However, he adds that it’s not always possible to get what you want. “It’s not easy to always bag the roles that you aspire to do. There have been moments of serious doubt But I think the journey is what makes everything so rewarding.”
Meanwhile, he says that the magnitude of OTT content has added a lot of competition. “There’s always that fear, especially with so much OTT content out there. But as an actor, I focus on giving my best performance and trusting the material. You can’t control everything, but believing in the project and the team behind it keeps you motivated, regardless of the outcome,” he says.
