Mahesh Thakur crosses the 'Bhabhi' threshold

Mahesh Thakur will soon share important space in Star Plus' afternoon soap Bhabhi. The serial produced by UTV is believed to take a 18 year leap on 2 June. "I play a 45 year old fun loving, warm person who finds humour in serious situations," says Mahesh. He is quick enough to add, "But there is no grey hair". "It is a very positive character. And sooner or later the plot will also show me falling for Dolly Sohi," he adds. Oh oh. So will we see the two of them getting married on screen? "Wait n watch," is all he will reveal.

Mahesh, who has been shooting for the serial for the third day today, explains that he was tempted to do the role because of the channel, the production house and the serial. "UTV with whom I am doing Shararat for the same channel, is very professional in their approach towards work. Also, Bhabhi is a very good serial." Considering that all his roles on television seem the same, he explains, "I can't say that I am bored of playing the same roles because every role needs to be played to the fullest. I would like to play a negative character provided it is justified." Does he do any any homework for his role? He justifies quickly, "I do my homework for every role that I play. I follow the script, read my lines and gradually slip into the character". Mahesh was last seen in Ravi Rai's Sailaab, Sparsh and Astitva. He will also be seen in the forthcoming films Barsaat and Dosti.
