MUMBAI: Mohit Raina is a well known face in the Television world. He has gained immense fame playing the iconic role of Lord Shiva in the show Devon Ke Dev Mahadev. His performance has left a lasting impression on the minds of many and he is still very much remembered for the role even today. The actor emotionally recalled how he bagged the role on the very same day as he tragically lost his father.

Speaking fondly of his late father, Mohit told a news portal, “I have never said this but my father was a firm believer in Lord Shiva. So, I think this role was a gift from my father to me. Because the day I got the confirmation that I am playing Lord Shiva that was the day I lost my father. So, I feel it was his gift for me because it can’t be a coincidence. I wanted to give my best to the show as I thought it was a gift from him.”
Mohit, who is currently seen in the Disney+Hotstar OTT series The Freelancer has quit TV at the peak of his career. Speaking about it he said, “Absolutely. When I came to Mumbai, I was never driven by money or fame ever. I didn’t know about these things, so I had nothing to lose. I only wanted to fulfill my creative needs. I was in a relationship with the camera and it did not bother me which medium it belonged to. I have no regrets and God has been kind with the kind of opportunities I got in my career.”

Mohit was also seen in the OTT series Mumbai Diaries 26/11 apart from The Freelancer.
