MUMBAI: Television viewers have been eagerly waiting for the upcoming show, Vidya. The show will be aired on Colors and will star actors like Meera Deosthale, Namish Taneja and veteran actor Vaquar Shaikh in central roles.
Vidya is a social drama based on the education system, set in a small village in Uttar Pradesh. Produced by Mahesh Pandey, the story centres around a lady named Vidya, who is a teacher but struggles to teach English. The makers recently dropped a few promos of their upcoming show featuring Meera as Vidya. However, Namish Taneja, who is playing the male lead, has been missing from the promos.
Revealing the reason, Namish told India Forums, “I’m playing a character named Vivek Vardhan Singh, a district magistrate who’ll teach everyone how to differentiate between right and wrong. I wasn’t shown in the promos yet because my entry will happen after 10 episodes. It is to build interest among the audience about my character.”
