Zara Nachke Dikha on Star One has a new member on the penalty bench. The challenge episode that is aired every Tuesday is followed by performance episodes of Monday. When a contestant loses the face-off round (which is a part of the challenge episode) he/she is sent to the penalty bench.
After Amit Tandon, it is Narayani Shastri who will be sitting on the penalty bench. Narayani Shastri and Bhaktiyar Irani were chosen for the face- off round by their respective teams. Locking and popping ( Popping is a street dance style based on the technique of quickly contracting and relaxing muscles to cause a jerk in the dancer's body, referred to as a pop) was the theme and Bhaktiyar scored over Narayani. Bhaktiyar danced to the tune of Main Aisa Kyun Hoon from the movie Lakshya and Narayani danced on the title track of Singh Is King.
Narayani, said, "Yes I was sent to the penalty bench but I have no reaction to this. I prefer not to react to anything on reality shows." On asking her about Bhaktiyar's performance, she said, "I was doing my warm- up back stage when he was performing, so I really can't comment."
Were her team mates disappointed? Pat came her reply, "Surprisingly all eight of us get along really well and there is never any problem."
A source informed us that the judges praised Narayani for her efforts as locking and popping is more popular with boys. One of the reasons for her going on the penalty seat was that her choreography comprised more of hip-hop and Bhangra than locking and popping.
Better to have tried and lost than not to have tried at all. What say Narayani?
