Sometimes life takes a 360 degree turn and brings across the past moments before us.
Something similar happened with the lovely saas on TV- Bhabho played by the talented Neelu Vaghela on Star Plus’ flagship show Diya Aur Baati Hum.
Of late, this Shashi Sumeet Productions Pvt Ltd show has been seeing the family oriented Bhabho warning her bahu Sandhya (Deepika Singh), who is all set to start her IPS training. Bhabho warns Sandhya that it’s important for her to first manage her family chores and then focus in her career.
Well the woman who too has been a working mother, in a conversation with Tellychakkar.com, ponders over the similar orders she got from her mother-in-law some years ago.
“At the outset, she made it very clear to me that whatever work I was doing outside the house; I had to fulfill all my duties as a wife and daughter-in-law once I am home. I had to cook, take care of the family, but thankfully I was brought up in a way which helped me to shoulder the responsibilities,” she shares.
Going ahead with her talks, Neelu says that she feels glad that she got a supporting partner like Arvind (Kumar). “He would go all the way to make things easy for me. It is very important for working ladies to have a husband who understands the pressure on his wife. Managing work and home is indeed difficult but Arvind ji made it really easy for me,” she informs.
“After a hard day’s work it does get difficult for us to go back home and cook for our family. And the most difficult situation arises during festivals when the family expects us working women to be there throughout the long period but you can only manage to wriggle out a day or two which too flashes out in a moment,” she adds.
Neelu is also very proud of her children who she claims are the best in the world. “Touchwood, my children have supported me equally. Even when I am tensed that I cannot give them the care and affection they need, they just don’t complain. Sometime tears swell up in my eyes with guilt but they are the first to wipe them away and hug me saying that they love me and are content and happy with whatever time I have for them. I am rather surprised to see both of them understand, at such a young age, the kind of work load I have,” she observes.
Relating to Sandhya and her dual responsibility, she smilingly avers, “Every time we shoot such sequences, it’s truly a déj? vu moment for me. I must say that every saas kabhi na kabhi to bahu hoti hi hai.”
Rightly put Neelu!!!
