Nehal Vadoliya shares her experience at Mahakumbh, calls it a ‘call from God’

MUMBAI: Sometimes unplanned trips are the best, and one such experience for actress Nehal Vadoliya was her trip to Mahakumbh. The actress, who is known for her bold roles in web series such as Gandii Baat 3, Julie 1-2, Mastram, Woodpecker, Dunali 1-2, and Imli, as well as TV shows like Vighnaharta Ganesha, Aap Ke Aa Jane Se, and Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, says that it was surreal.

“This was my first visit to Mahakumbh. It truly felt like a call from God. I feel happy, lucky, and blessed to have visited this sacred place. This Mahakumbh was special. I heard that it happens once every 144 years, so in this lifetime, it was my first and last chance to witness it. The trip was completely unplanned, just like all my visits to holy places. In fact, sometimes I have zero money in my account, yet I still manage to go on these spiritual journeys. It’s all because of God. I believe that without God's permission, we cannot even go near Him. This experience has made me even more curious to learn about God, and now I want to visit more such places. I feel deeply connected to Him,” she says.

She adds, “ We were a group of 8 people, including the director of Julie and his family friends. Taking a dip in the sacred Sangam felt like a way of purifying myself and presenting myself before God. It was my way of saying, ‘Look, I have come,’ and expressing gratitude for this opportunity.”

Talking about her experience, she says, “The energy and devotion of the crowd were incredible. People were chanting God's name, singing bhajans, and walking with full enthusiasm. Faith is such a powerful thing—there were people of all ages, from small children to elderly individuals, and even those who couldn't walk properly were there.”

She adds, “The UP government did a great job organizing everything, and I had no issues at all. The only concern I had was about non-vegetarian food being sold near the parking areas outside the ghats. Since Mahakumbh lasts for 44 days, I feel they could have restricted it for this period. But apart from that, my overall experience was amazing. I still can’t put it into words. I feel incredibly lucky and blessed.”
