Nehal Vadoliya on Valentine's Day: Finding a real, meaningful connection has become very difficult

MUMBAI: Actress Nehal Vadoliya, known for her bold roles in web series such as Gandii Baat 3, Julie 1-2, Mastram, Woodpecker, Dunali 1-2, and Imli, as well as TV shows like Vighnaharta Ganesha, Aap Ke Aa Jane Se, and Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, says she does not plan to celebrate Valentine’s Day this year. However, she adds that she will be doing something special with a friend on that day.

“This year, I wasn’t planning to celebrate Valentine’s Day, but I have a special project on that day. So, I’ll be celebrating with a friend in a private way, though the project will be shared publicly,” she says.

Talking about Valentine’s Day, she emphasizes the importance of seeking genuine emotions in relationships. “People treat emotions like they’re just playing a video game. Finding a real, meaningful connection has become very difficult. Right now, I’m in a phase where I only love God. For me, the most attractive thing is when someone can be with you without touching you. I don’t want to share my personal space,” she says.

Ask her if she believes in old-school love, and she responds, “Yes, it’s rare, but I believe that’s how it should be. I love privacy. I don’t want to share details about the kind of bond I have with my family, sisters, best friends, or even God. If those relationships are so important, then they should be kept private, right? I believe in keeping my personal connections very private, secret, and mysterious. I don’t like showing them off.”

She adds, “Nowadays, people care more about how their relationship looks on their profile rather than the actual feelings behind it. As for me, I have completely given up on love for this year. I don’t need it. Right now, my focus is on loving myself and my work.”

She believes it’s important to be patient for the right person to come along. “Don’t rush. Love comes after trust, loyalty, respect, and care. These four things are the foundation—so make sure they are there first. And most importantly, start by loving yourself.”
