Parikshit Sahni returns to TV with Star Plus' Maa

As reported earlier UTV is gearing up for a Hindi remake of K Venkatesh Productions’ popular Bengali show Maa on Star Plus. The Hindi version will also be reportedly called Maa. However, the latest news is that after roping in popular actors like Sayantani Ghosh, Neena Kulkarni, Jatin Shah and Supriya Shukla, the makers have now roped in veteran actor Parikshit Sahni who is known for his roles in shows like Gul Gulshan Gulfaam, Heena and Saath Phere. Our source informs, “Parikshit will be playing the role of Mamta’s (Neena Kulkarni) soft- spoken husband who is a retired judge. Parikshit has already shot for the pilot and is waiting for the shooting to start. The story revolves around a mother-child relationship played by Sayantani Ghosh and Avneet Kaur respectively. Parikshit and Neena Kulkarni have two sons and two daughter-in-laws in the family. The shooting is expected to commence from August 10.” Parikshit Sahni remained unavailable.
