Versatility comes naturally to this actor from Allahabad. Flamboyance personified, he has the verve to don new roles. With a string of successes behind him, Pawan Shankar aka Karan Sablok of Kasamh Se fame has added another feather in his cap. Now, from acting he has taken the leap to hosting. The Zee Night show held in Singapore was anchored by him. Following the trend, he had donned the role of his character Karan Sablok from his show Kasamh Se on Zee TV instead of being Pawan Shankar as the host. The show that was held in the magnificient Esplanade theatre was packed with fans who were roaring in elation. Primarily meant to entertain the diaspora, the show was also graced by Debojit and Hemani of the SA Re Ga Ma Pa fame. But that's not it. Our man not only hosted the show, but also danced on a couple of hit filmi numbers like say shava shava and mahi ve with co-star Rashmi Thakkur. It goes without saying that the show got a great response and Pawan gave a brilliant performance. According to Pawan,"The audience would not stop cheering for full five minutes after the show was over." Talk about nervousness and the actor admits coyly, "Well I did experience it in the beginning, but then it's quite normal to react in such a way, especially when you are performing in a different setting". Adds Pawan, "There were strict measures in place and my wife had to remain backstage throughout the performance since she could not cross over to the other side." The actor was all praise for the organizers of the show. According to the actor, "Working in the television industry is fun at the moment since its has a lot to offer in terms of moolah and meaty roles." Of late, dancing and hosting are his special interests. And he does not rule out the possibility of doing a film and adds, "In the coming six months you might spot me on the celluloid screen" Caught in the crosshairs of acting, hosting, dancing and celluloid dreams. Hope he does justice to all. Way to go Pawan; waiting to catch you in some other role sometime soon!!
