Mumbai: We earlier reported on the cast of Zabaan Sambhalke, which is set to make its grand comeback as a web-series. The project will be produced by Rajiv Mehra under his banner Eagle Films and will stream on ALTBalaji. The shooting will start from mid-August this year.
The original version was a huge hit with the audience. The popular show featured a stellar cast including Pankaj Kapoor, Viju Khote, Shubha Khote, Bhavana Balsavar, and Tanaaz Irani. The makers have also worked hard on finalizing the new cast.
TellyChakkar exclusively reported that the new version would have actors like Sumeet Raghavan, Rupali Bhosale, Bakhtiyaar Irani, Soma Anand, Rakesh Shrivastav, Ashwin Mushran, and Tanu Khan in prominent roles.
Now, we have another development. 21 Sarfarosh - Saragarhi 1897 fame,Pippa Hughes the lead role, will be playing the role of Jennifer, Pippa also played lead in Amazon Prime's, Shaitaan Havali as julia.
TellyChakkar got in touch with Pippa who says, ‘Yes, I will be playing the role of Jennifer, even though I auditioned for both Jennifer and Tara’s characters. The script is quiet funny and modernised as compared to the old script, and I am sure the audience is simply going to love the remake of the show.’
Along with Pippa, Bhawsheel Singh Sahni, who will soon be seen in Akshay Kumar’s upcoming movie Gold, is in talks for the role of a Haryanvi man, Mani Singh.
On being contacted, Bhawsheel said, ‘I have already auditioned a bunch of times for the role. I have given three rounds of audition and I am just waiting eagerly for the confirmation from their end.’ He seems excited to be a part of the project.
Comedy Circus host Joanna Robaczewska has also auditioned for the role of the NRI women, but due to the clash in dates with her Comedy Circus shoots, she hasn’t received any confirmation yet.
