wedding bells are ringing again in Sony. After Ayushmaan (Sudip Sahir) tied the knot with Dr Kavya last week, it's Shama Sikander aka Pooja Mehta of Ye Meri Life Hai's turn. After a lot of highs and lows in Pooja's life, she has finally agreed to marry Ashmit Malhotra, played by Raahil Azam. With tiffs between the families of the bride and the groom, it was decided to have a mixed culture wedding.
"I am enjoying the wedding scenes. But I am tired," she laughs. "Pooja Mehta has been a simple girl all these days. Wearing heavy clothes and jewelry is a pain. In my personal life too, I am simple," she adds.
Her cheerful friend Mandy still sticks to her punch line 'tadam pe tudum' and 'jahaan puji paji wahaan mandy paaji'.
The serial, produced by Optimystix, has moved on to showing her engagement ceremony. It will soon show her 'mehendi' and wedding ceremonies too. The 'mehendi' scene shot on Wednesday was a typical Bollywood style ceremony complete with naach gaana, sweets, teasing and loads of fun. Pooja's friends swayed to Gujarati music and played 'garba', when Mandy's father interrupted, forcing the group to dance to Punjabi music. This is sure to create a high voltage performance on screen.
Kumud and Kshitij of Kkusum will follow suit and will be shown marrying each other in April.
Looks like Sony is giving out more marriage material this summer. Do we mind?
