Sony Entertainment Television seems to be all set for a fresh line-up of programming which includes few new fiction shows. Topping the list of the much-awaited projects on the channel will be the return of the critically acclaimed television documentary-drama titled Bhanwar.
Bhanwar which aired in the late 1990’s on Sony TV was a one-of-a-kind show which dealt with landmark judgements from the Indian judicial system. The series was earlier produced by TV18. The show was so popular that it enjoyed re-runs on SAB TV and Fox History. The series which had a grand run of over two years on Sony TV was directed by Sanjay Ray Chaudhari.
Well, that was about the past!! Now coming to the present, Sony TV will soon bring back the popular show, with brand new judicial cases.
A reliable source states, “Presently, planning is on for the return of Bhanwar on Sony TV. The channel has assigned 3-4 production houses to work extensively on the case studies. Given the present scenario, such a hard-hitting show that will dwell into real-life cases and their earth-shattering judgements will grab quite a lot of eyeballs.”
News coming in to our work desk at Tellychakkar.com is that Cinevistaas Ltd. and Contiloe Entertainment are two of the four production houses working on Bhanwar.
Armed with this information, we buzzed Producer Siddharth Malhotra, Cinevistaas who said, “We are presently working on 3-4 new concepts. But there is nothing to talk about them right now.”
We tried getting in touch with Producer Abhimanyu Singh of Contiloe, but did not get any reply.
Channel spokesperson also did not shed any light on the matter.
