Qurbaan Hua actor Sshrey Pareekh opens up!

MUMBAI: Sshrey Pareekh praises the meaningful title of his ongoing popular TV show Qurbaan hua produced by Ace Producer duo Amir and Sonali Jaffar. Calling it apt for the storyline, the actor says that the name rightly points out that love transcends all boundaries.

“When you fall in love, you give everything to that relationship. Sometimes you end up giving a lot more to it than you have,” he says adding that he is also very happy with his character in the show.  “My character name is not unique but it’s real and therefore relatable. There people who fall in love on irrespective of whether the other person loves them back or not. Till here it’s good but then when they mess the lives of their loved ones because they don’t get the same love in return, that isn’t the right approach. But people do that in reality. That’s what my character is,” he talks about his out-and-out negative part that he portrays in the show.  Interestingly, the character has been received well. He says, “When you play a negative character, people love to hate you. The followers of the show won’t like you any way and that’s where I get my rewards. My character is meant to be bad and when people hate me it means I am doing justice to the role.”  Pareekh is thankful to Sonali and Amir Jaffar of Full House Media for giving him this opportunity. “Working with Amir sir and Sonali ma’am feels like your are working with family. It’s the best team I have ever worked with. They make you comfortable and allow you to grow. The team is amazing. They care for you and make you feel at home. I look forward to going to set everyday with renewed vigor,” he adds.

The best thing about the industry is that everyone here is working to entertain people feels Pareekh.  “It’s a beautiful thing for an artist to portray emotions that connects with the audience. You can make them laugh or cry, and slowly become one of them. That’s the beauty of this profession and this industry. And at the end of it the audience love you back,” says the actor, who would have been a writer or dancer if facing the camera would not have been an option.

Pareekh shares that a few producers are churning good content and experimenting, but many of them aren’t.  “The TRP based approach needs to change. On TV content is important, but at the same time for us the audience is king. So we have to give the viewers what they want. And at the end of it, we also need to keep the business running. As an actor, I am also trying my best to experiment and grow. I am inspired by actors Irrfan Khan, Joaquin Phoenix and Matthew McConaughey. Their hard work and dedication motivate me,” he adds.  With the Covid cases rising, Pareekh too is raking extra precautions while at work. But he is determined that life should go on.  “I don’t want a full-fledged lockdown to happen again honestly. Last year was a real bad situation. There was no work for me and many others, and it was stressful. So all need to be responsible and follow all precautions,” he ends.
