MUMBAI: Guru Purnima was celebrated on July 5 across the country. The festival is observed to pay respect to teachers or gurus. On the occasion, producer Rajan Shahi paid a tribute to his guru Ravi Rai, who has directed TV shows like "Sailaab", "Intehaan" and "Thoda Hai Thode Ki Jarurat Hai".
In his Facebook post, Rajan shared two photographs of the acclaimed director and wrote, “To Ravi Rai Ji. My guru, my mentor, my teacher, my guide, my support, my inspiration, my strength, for life. Thanks sir for holding my hand, guiding me and supporting me, when I needed most. Giving me that confidence ‘My guru will stand by me through all the times.’ Sir, thank you for being my guru in the true sense. I am today what I am because of your teachings, guidance and blessings. Happy Guru Purnima Raviji.”
Rajan, who is known for his shows like “Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai” and “Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke", has always credited Ravi Rai for being his inspiration and motivating him.
He had earlier said, “When I started in television in 1993, Mr. Ravi Rai was my guru and mentor, so working with him for six to seven years was my grooming and learning period. He was a big celebrated writer, director and producer. And working under him and learning from him was a complete package and all that I learnt from him has helped me a lot today.”
