Rakesh Bedi in Metti Oli remake

As reported earlier Sony TV’s upcoming show Metti Oli is a story about five daughters who stay with their father after their mother passed away. it is the remake of a Tamil show which was later even made in Malayalam and Telugu. The show is an emotion packed drama about the love of a father for his daughters. The Tamil version has been the longest version till date. The popularity of the show in all the three versions has led to the Hindi remake. The role of the father called Chidambaram in the original which was offered to Annu Kapoor initially but now Rakesh Bedi has been finalised as things did not work out with Kapoor. A source tells us, “The show was supposed to go on air in June. The Hindi remake is based in Panipat. Rakesh ji has been finalised for the role of father. Three actresses who were approached for the roles of daughters were Smriti Kalra of 12/24 Karol Bagh fame, Aanchal Sabharwal who has currently replaced Mugdha Chapekar in Sajan Re Jhooth Mat Bolo and Anjali Abrol of Raja Ki Aayegi Baarat.” The source also adds, “The show was to go on air post IPL but could be delayed further as the shooting has still to begin. In fact it’s been over two months that the actors too were intimated about the show’s status. But now that Bedi has been finalised the show may make some headway.” Rakesh Bedi was busy in a shoot and hence did not comment.
