Ekta Kapoor has moved away from most of her stars but some of these stars too are now looking beyond their mentor. Ram Kapoor, who Ekta reportedly was finding too expensive, has signed Sagar Arts upcoming show Saudagar on NDTV Imagine.
This is the third time that Kapoor has taken a non-Balaji show. The other two shows were Mansha and Kabhi aaye naa judai. Saudagar is also Kapoor’s second show for Imagine. The actor is all set to host Imagine reality show Rakhi ka swayamvar.

A reliable source says, “The story is about a Gujarati, Maharastrian, Punjabi and a Muslim couple. Kapoor plays father to the Maharashtrian guy. The show is expected to launch either on 20 or 27 July.”
We tried contacting Ram Kapoor and even sent him a text message but he didn’t reply. Sagar Arts’ Prem Sagar too didn’t respond to our query.
Actors Vishal Gandhi, Hrishikesh Pandey, and Vivek Madan have been offered the roles of the male leads.
