MUMBAI : Rising star Firoza Khan, popularly known as Khanzaadi, has not only mesmerized audiences with her rap prowess but has also emerged as a vocal advocate within the music industry. Having showcased her talent on platforms like MTV Hustle 2.0 and Salman Khan’s TV reality show Bigg Boss Season 17, Khanzaadi brings a unique perspective to the ongoing discourse surrounding wedding performances.
In a recent conversation, she shared her views on the ongoing controversy between singers Neha Kakkar and Abhijeet Bhattacharya regarding performances at weddings and their potential impact on an artist's reputation. Through her lens as a rapper, Khanzaadi offers valuable insights into the complexities of this debate within the music industry.
While discussing whether performing at weddings is demeaning for artists, Khanzaadi responds, "I can't speak for others, but in my view, if you can contribute to someone's celebration and happiness as an entertainer through your art, which is a gift from God, then you should utilize it positively rather than arguing against it."
When asked about Neha Kakkar's support for performing at weddings, stating it's nothing to be ashamed of, especially if it supports one's family, Khanzaadi responds, "I agree with Neha Kakkar. No one should feel ashamed of performing at weddings. It can indeed be a legitimate source of income for artists and can support their families."
While reflecting on the concern that performing at weddings might tarnish an artist's reputation, she says, "I haven't performed at weddings yet, so I can't speak from personal experience. I firmly believe that performing at weddings shouldn't damage anyone's reputation. Numerous respected artists have graced wedding stages for years, and as long as you spread happiness and joy, there should be no limitations on what you can contribute."
