धर्मsankat is very quirky and irreverent: Paras Tomar

MUMBAI: It was only some time ago that actor Paras Tomar starred in Joyeeta Chatterjee’s sensitively written short film titled Baby Steps, which captures the evolution of the relationship between a mother and her son over each other’s sexuality.

And soon, he got an opportunity to feature in ZEE5’s digital venture 377 Abnormal, which charts the journey of five petitioners who fought for the dissolution of Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code, which criminalized consensual intercourse that was ‘against the order of nature’.

Well, it looks like the man is doing very well for himself in the digital space, as now, he is shooting for धर्मsankat.

Speaking about the same, Paras shared, 'Every actor walks into my house with one big problem! The show is very quirky and irreverent and deals with one issue in every episode. All actors play exaggerated versions of themselves. We're dealing with sexuality and coming out... that episode is with my dad. We've got episodes where Rishina Kandhari plays an overtly sexual version of herself, which is very funny! Manasi Rachh, who's also a college friend of mine was a dream to shoot with because she came with so many ideas of her own! Two actors make a debut with this series. One would be my dad, who is acting for the first time. As an ex-fauji, this is totally new for him! The other is Shivani Kapila, who boasts of 4 million fans on TikTok and now jumps into the world of acting!'

'For me, personally, this is so special. It's the first time I've written and directed a show, and the response from just the promo is overwhelming, mostly to the tune of "Oh my god, Your dad is so cute!" It's crazy bring a writer, director, and producer at the same time. I suddenly felt like a school principal! The show airs from October 10th. We're doing a 13-part series for season 1. Season 2 is going to star a lot of the show's fans, who have been writing to us already! This is one baby I can't wait to deliver!'

Way to go, Paras!
