Scripts are the most powerful weapon for a show - Sachal Tyagi

Sachal Tyagi

Having performed one of the most evil characters, Rannvijay in Agle Janam…, Sachal Tyagi is now back on TV in a completely different avatar in Zee TV’s Hello Pratibha (Shakuntalam Productions).

Talking about this change in his career course, the actor averred, “I had been sending vibrations to the universe that I want to now do positive characters and thankfully Shakuntalam and Zee TV heard them first and singed me for this amazing character. This multi flavoured show will see me in a mature and smart character who is a responsible person. He will actually be the catalyst responsible for his wife to stand up for herself.”

When asked why he appears only in rustic roles, Sachal laughed to say, “It’s not that I do that consciously. Although this role will also give viewers an opportunity to see a more young and happening side of me during the flashback sequences. But yes, now I think I should pass on vibrations to the universe of getting some glamourous roles next.”

With the show like most on TV being focusing on women, we wondered if a talent like him had apprehensions of the way his character would shape up in the show. “No I did not for I trust the producers and channels to have a powerful track for me. And I also feel that without a hero, a heroine has no value and vice versa. So to make a show work you need all characters equally.”

Sachal informed that his prime objective while becoming an actor was to be seen on the big screen but today he finds the barrier between TV and films being fizzling out. “I think today whether you are on TV or films, if you manage to perform well you get noticed. With so many TV actors managing to move to films I think it actually helps as a stepping stone rather being a hindrance to ones filmy aspirations.”

But the actor does feel that TV typecasts its actors on their popular roles as he said, “It’s really sad that if one character works, people tend to offer you similar roles post that. This was the reason why I took this role and I am enjoying every moment of it.”

Sachal mentioned that the show although doesn’t have nothing out of the world content yet has a very innovative feel to it. “The way the show has been executed is very different. Scripts are the most powerful weapon for a show and I think we have a great one with us. The simple presentation is our USP and I think viewers would be able to relate beautifully with our show.”

The show launched this week.
