Talented and seasoned campaigner Lawrence Pereira, who has been a successful DOP and FWICE activist, passed away yesterday (11 October) after a brief illness.
The man, who was a well-known name with more than 40 -45 years of service behind the camera in both TV and Film Industry, has also served as the Vice-President of FWICE. He started his career as a cameraman at the age of 16.
The senior cameraman stepped down from Federation duties few months back owing to illness. His place was later occupied by yet another senior cameraman Mahesh Rane.
Talking about Pereira’s vast contribution and demise, Amit Behl, who has also served the Federation said, “I had earlier worked with him for movie. I got to associate with him over the last year where we worked together in the Federation. He was a happy-go-lucky guy with great talent.”
The last respects and funeral of Pereira is scheduled to be happening now.
RIP, Pereira.
