It’s all about the shahi grandeur and opulence on the massive sets of the popular historical fiction show Bharat Ka Veer Putra-Maharana Pratap airing on Sony TV under the banner of Contiloe Entertainment. We thereby carved upon a few citations put forth by Shakti Anand who plays Maharana Udai Singh in the show.
In a recent media conference, the show had depicted a war scene encompassing almost three hundred sainiks. In addition to the splendor Faisal Khan, Shakti Anand and Vishal Jethwa were seen having a hard time fighting the heat and getting used to riding horses for the war.
Of course! Managing the huge set well enough is not a cake walk and hence Shakti Anand emphasized and credited the creative team for the long haul. “Since the scripting is based on historic events it needs to be precise and articulate. Our major concern is that the audience should make the most of it because in the end the feedback has to be affirmative. Therefore keeping the fact in mind there has to be a lot of pre as well as post research that needs to be done on a particular shot.”
There has to be a cut-off point which makes mythological and historical shows different from family dramas. What about the output in terms of acting? Shakti asserted, “Firstly the sets are more than enough to help the viewers distinguish between the two. And secondly the exhibition of lucid expressions and emotions is rendered with a lot of dedication and devotion. There is nothing like giving fake expressions or emotions, it is put across very naturally with ease and simplicity.”
The war sequence which was fought between Maharana Pratap and Akbar was shot on a wide expanse amidst striking heat which added to the distress. However it didn’t seem to affect any of the diligent actors. “There is a lot of pressure and to top it all the costumes are heavy to work with. It’s an important war sequence and there are others who are trying their level best; so I don’t have much of an option. I have to put up with the situation and make the best out of it,” concluded the exhausted Shakti smilingly.
Hard work always pays off, Shakti.
