Shalini Kapoor quits 'Kkusum'

Shalini Kapoor, who had entered the Kkusum plot as Aaryaman's wife a couple of months ago, has quit. "My track's going nowhere, and I thought it better to quit now than go on contributing a huge chunk of my time to this show," says the pretty lady, currently also seen in Zee's afternoon soap Paalkhi. "But there's no animosity between Balaji Telefilms and me," she hastens to add. Shalini, who had replaced Mayuri Kango as Saakshi on the meandering Kkusum, says she had been assured that her character 'would be instrumental in a positive way' on the show and that a good actress was needed for the job, when she took up the assignment. "I am not in favour of replacing another actor, but thought would give this a try," she says. This wasn't Shalini's first tryst with Balaji. The actress has earlier worked on Kaahin Kissi Roz too. What thrills her right now is Mohini, her character in Paalkhi, her current assignment, in which she plays a negative character for the first time.
