MUMBAI : Namita Thapar gained immense recognition after her stint on Shark tank India. She was one of the most popular sharks and viewers loved her comments and her vibrant nature. Namita is also loved for her being vocal on current issues and recently she opened up about the constant trolling that she is subjected to where people call her ‘Papa ki Pari, Nepo Kid, Overacting Ki dukaan, etc’.
Namita spoke about how she has been criticized by her own family members for trying to balance personal and work life.
Speaking of her experience of Shark Tank, Namita said, “It’s been fantastic. None of us, who got into it, thought it would be so big. The show is teaching what I learnt in business school to the masses with very effective and fun storytelling. So I go to airports and then 9 year old kids to 60 year old grandmothers, who come and start talking about EBITDA and cost of acquisition and equity and that's wonderful to see.”
On balancing her personal and work life, Namita said, “Honestly, there's no balance. Because I've said this very often, when I prioritize my work, my kids and many other family members hate me for it. So there's a lot of hate, there's a lot you have to deal with. When I prioritize my family at times, I've been taunted as, she's doing it part-time. I just took off for two hours to attend a PTA meeting. That's not part time. So, you know, it's like damn if you do, damn if you don't. There's no balance. You just have to wake up every morning, make your to-do list, be at peace with what you've decided and get on with life.”
