Shekhar out, Shweta in as host of Dekh India Dekh

Sony’s Dekh India Dekh is making some important changes. The gorgeous Shweta Gulati has replaced Shekhar Suman as host of the show. Suman will judge the show with Archana Puran Singh. It’s just been a month since the show went on air and the show will have a major change in the format. The show which was an extension of Comedy Circus will now revert to the format of Comedy Circus. It is alleged that since Dekh India Dekh was not doing well on the TRP chart the team thought it best to revert to their time tested formula. Giving details on the change a source says, “Now audiences will not only see competition amongst all the actors but the show will also do some stand- up comedy. The show will be now shot in the studio instead of different locations. However, all the characters will remain the same. Though there will be competition amongst all the actors there will not be any elimination in the show but there will be only comedy to entertain the audiences.” We contacted Shweta Gulati who said, “Actually I was offered the show long back but I wasn’t comfortable about it at that point of time. Now that the format has been changed I think I can host the show well and this is the first time that I will be hosting a comedy show.” We also contacted Vipul Shah of Optymistix who confirmed the news saying, “Yes, there will be a format change in the show.” However he refrained from giving any more information.
