MUMBAI : Sasural Genda Phool 2 has started some time back and it had garnered lots of limelight when it was launched. The show features Jay Soni, Shagun Sharma, Supriya Pilgaonkar, Sooraj Thapar, and others. There were talks doing the rounds on social media about the show wrapping up. The lead actor of Season 2 of the popular show, Jay Soni had dismissed the rumour.
It had reported about Sasural Genda Phool 2 being moved to a new time slot from 8 pm to 7.30 pm. Jay Soni, the male lead of the show, confirmed that there has been a change of plan. While the makers had hoped to get a chance to revive the show, that might not happen anymore. SGP2 is all set to wrap up on April 15. The shoot will conclude by March-end. The cast of the show has been informed about this development. While the first season ran for two years, the second one is wrapping up in three months.
Sooraj Thapar, who plays Alok Kashyap on the show, confirms, “Yes, it’s true that the show is going off-air on April 15. We are working towards giving it a logical conclusion. SGP will always remain close to my heart and in fact, it will be special for everyone associated with this show. So, it is definitely heartbreaking to bid it adieu prematurely.”
The sequel to the original series starts after Ishaan's wife's death. Ishaan does not want to remarry and begin a new life. However, things take a turn when he meets Titlee.
