Smriti Mohan and Tarun Khanna are happily married; to throw a bash this Saturday

Smriti Mohan and Tarun Khanna
We shall commence by congratulating couple Smriti Mohan and Tarun Khanna. Well…they are now happily married. Now, if you guys enter a little flashback mode or look up in the search column in Tellychakkar.com, you would find an article wherein we wrote that Smriti (seen in Sahara One’s Niyati) apparently moved in with her ex husband, Jag Mohan, after striking “a not so” happy chord with Tarun. At that point of time, when we got in touch with Smriti, she rubbished everything as rumours. And guess what? Later media reports suggested that Smriti and Tarun took the holy nuptial vows a month ago, 10 July 2012, to be precise. It was a private affair but come 18 August, the lovey dovey couple is all set to throw a big bash to celebrate their union. “We wanted to give an engagement party soon after our wedding but our back-to-back shooting schedules left no time for it. Last Saturday we threw a party for our close family members in Delhi, as Tarun is from there, and this Saturday it will be in Mumbai.” Talking about her guest list she said, “Rakshanda Khan, Pawan Shankar, Aryan Vaid, Dheeraj Kumar, Binaifer Kohli, Juhi Parmar, Sachin Shroff, Jayshree Soni and many more from the industry are a part of our guest list.” So how did the love story begin? “We met through a common friend two and a half years ago and within a week’s time we realized we wanted to spend rest of our lives together. However, things did not seem easy back then as Tarun was married with a kid.” So how did things fall in place? “That’s when Tarun got divorced. But marriage wasn’t that easy as we also had to think of Tarun’s son who is still young.” Does she face similar issues post marriage? “Not at all, in fact, Tarun’s son, who is 14 years old now, has become friends with me. We go out together and I also take him gaming at times. He comes home to have dinner with us.” Smriti got married in Arya Samaj in Mumbai and actor Aryan Vaid’s parents did her kanyadan. There were also reports of her parents being against the wedding. So could this be the reason of their absence from the event? “Not at all, they wanted to be a part of the wedding but since my mother has been unwell for a long time now, we did not want her to travel so much. But she did give her blessings over the phone.” The actress is in a very beautiful phase of life at the moment but a few things never change like she shared with us, “We still fight on small things like the movies we’d watch or the channel we want to see. We have issues on food we want to have and I don’t think we can stop doing that (laughs).” We wish the couple a happy married life.
