Crime shows have always been the ‘saving grace’ for Sony Entertainment Television. The channel’s overall GRP is ruled by them and given the number of viewers hooked to these shows; we can surely say they are going to do well in the coming time as well.
And to cash in on the popularity, SET has decided to give their viewers a chance to enjoy the crime shows thrice a week. Airing from Friday-Sunday, from 11 April, the channel will exclusively dedicate the gripping shows in the time slot of 8pm to 12pm.
The shows lined up are Adaalat (Contiloe Entertainment) at 8pm, followed by the new show by Endemol India, Encounter which will be hosted by Manoj Bajpayee. Post that CID (Fireworks Productions) and Crime Patrol (Optimystix Productions) will air at 10pm and 11 pm respectively.
And interestingly, CID has come up with another interesting series for the viewers. Titled Giraftaar, the series will show the three officers, ACP Pradhyuman (Shivaji Satam) and Inspectors Abhijeet (Aditya Srivastav) and Daya (Dayanand Shetty) getting arrested. How they will fight the criminals and specially get themselves proven innocent will be the crux of the new series.
Viewers will also once again get to see producer B P Singh getting back to the show as an actor as DCP Chitrole. He will be shown trying to save out the trio from the false case and with the entry of the new cops, the show will get all the more exciting. The makers have shot for an extensive promo and the series too is said to be very dhamakedar and interesting.
Producer B P Singh remained unavailable and so did the channel spokesperson. On receiving any updates from them, we shall share it over here in a jiffy.
Later Gaurav Seth Senior VP and Head Marketing, SET, said, “Viewers of Sony enjoy these shows and this is why we decided to offer it more often to them. Also we have a strong hold in this genre which is basically our ‘fiction’ offering. This extension will definitely work, for people have been enjoying watching CID in this time schedule and this four hour long session will be our chance to entertain viewers more.”
