TellyChakkar earlier broke the news about Gatha Productions coming up with their debut show. The finite series tentatively titled Vidrohi is commissioned by Star Plus. As per TellyChakkar’s reportage Indian actor Anjum Sharma is playing the lead character in the show which is based on a real life incidence.
TellyChakkar now has the latest updates regarding the upcoming series. A reliable source reveals that the series will have two female characters. “The makers are looking for unexploited faces,” an insider reveals.
As per our sources, the pilot has already been shot. The makers have roped in two actresses for the pilot.
Popular South Indian actress Meenakshi Dixit will play the female lead. Dixit has been credited as a prominent name in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada films. In 2015, she made her Bollywood debut with P Se PM Tak. The controversial film helped her grab eyeballs. Dixit, who hails from Uttar Pradesh, will be making her fiction debut on television with the above mentioned program.
Vega Moda, will portray the other primary character. The actress and model, who hails from Chhattisgarh is again a prominent name in the Southern cinema. Earlier she played the lead opposite Vir Das in Amit Sahni Ki List and played a pivotal character in Priyanka Chopra starrer Jai Gangajal. The lady has been off the screens for a year now and with this show she is supposed to make a comeback. This will also be her first project on Hindi television.
“Meenakshi’s character has a little edge over Vega’s,” a little birdie maintains.
Another actor who plays a very important role in the series is noted Indian actor and theatre personality Ram Gopal Bajaj. The PadmaShri awardee was last seen in Star Plus’ Rishton Ka Chakravyuh and Akshay Kumar starrer Jolly LLB 2.
The versatile actor has a strong presence in the entertainment space. The makers are in no mood to cast big names for this content driven show. “They have chosen talented actors for the show,” an insider reveals.
Another development that we’ve heard is that the makers have already started prepping up for the main shoot. Things would be finalized by the end of this month or the beginning of July. The new production house is helmed by a bunch of writers including Subrat Sinha.
