On Sony, Sujata is third in line to go off air after Arslaan and Waqt . Of late the show introduced many twists and turns along with changes in tracks to raise the TRP. After which the time slot was changed from 10 pm to 7:30 pm. A reliable source informed, “Sujata is going off air on December 11. The production house was recently informed by the channel that the show might be pulled out any time soon if the show does not show a rise in the viewership. Since the TRPs did not show an effective mark up the channel decided to pull it off.” Sanjay Upadhyay, Creative Head, Fiction, Sony said, “Yes the show is going off air on December 11. We have been trying to give some hope to the show. We tried to attract viewers with every thing possible but unfortunately the show will have to go off air. We strongly believe in Sujata and we were passionate about it. But due to the failing numbers we will have to pull it out and give opportunities to other upcoming shows that are in the development process.” Lead actor Aman Verma said, “What can I say about Sujata going off air? I am just an actor and my job is only to act. I do not have a role in such things. One does feel bad when he or she is a part of a show and that show ends. But an actor has to move on and keep doing his job.”
