Sumeet Sachdev, aka Gautam of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, had a memorable evening when his short film Rehman Saab Ko Phone Karna hai was screened at a plush multiplex on October 4 in Mumbai. Sumeet had organised the screening for his family and close friends only. Among those present were Sumeet’s brother Sandeep (winner of Biggest Loser Jeetega), actress Zeenat Aman and director Ravi Rai.
This film is about a writer Veerdas, who has a tragic end to his life. The film proves how unpredictable one’s life is and that no human has control over it. Among other things, the film has Gracious D’Souza of Biggest Loser Jeetega fame playing a robber.
While he asked for our reaction to the film, Sumeet wasn’t keen on making the film’s content public as yet. Sumeet says, “I don’t the film’s content out as yet as I’m planning to take it to film festivals. That screening was only meant for close family and friends. What I can tell you that I’ve shot the entire film with just a Handicam. The entire script was written by me.”
In the coming months, Sumeet will divert all his energies towards this film. “As I said earlier, I want to take my work to film festivals. This will require a lot of effort from my part. Besides, I wasn’t happy with the projection quality so I need to work on it before the next screening.. Thus, you won’t see much of me as an actor in the coming months.”
