MUMBAI: Preet Grewal is a known actress of the entertainment business.
She is known for her character for her OTT project Tanaav and she has been part of many ads.
The actress was first a cabin crew and when COVID striked her airlines shut down and then she flew down to Mumbai to become an actress.
Soon, she will be seen in a Punjabi movie alongside Bigg Boss Season 13 contestant Himanshi Khurana.
TellyChakkar got in touch with Preet and asked her how her journey started as an actress and did she learn the Punjabi language for her movie.
Did you always dream of becoming an actress or are you an accidental actress?
Before I became an actress, I was a cabin crew. I used to fly with Jet Airways and Qatar Airways but I always wanted to act, but then your job provides you with so much comfort because flying is such a job where you keep flying abroad and one is not able to leave. But then my airline shut down and COVID happened and that’s how I came to Mumbai. I always wanted to act and because of COVID and my airline shutting down I came down to Mumbai.
They say it is not easy to make it in MUmbai. So how did you get your first break? What was the struggle like?
First break I think was doing an Advertisement for different brands and products. I did an ad for Tata products and for Spotify. Films and all I didn’t do as yet as I have just begun in this industry and this was the first Punjab movie that I have signed.
How has the experience been in working in the Punjabi industry?
I am loving it. Here the people are so nice and warm and I am really enjoying it and it’s really cool. They all are very professional.
Since it's your first Punjabi movie will you be speaking the language of Punjab or will your voice be dubbed?
I have a Hindi character in the movie. It's like a mix and match. Though it is a Punjabi movie, the language of Hindi is very much part of the project. Basically there are only 11 main characters in the movie and everyone has their own story. The movie revolves around people being very greedy, calculative and how people marry for money, then later on how Karama hits people indirectly or directly.
Well, it will be lovely to see Preet on the big screen and see the character in the essays.
