Anuj Sachdeva, who has recently replaced Farhan Khan in Sony Entertainment Television’s Chhanchhan, is not the least concerned about low TRPs (Television Rating Points) of this Optimystix Entertainment produced show.
“Every show takes time to build its audiences; moreover we also suffered due to the past IPL (Indian Premier League) season. But now things are on the mend. Plus one also needs to understand that each channel has its own niche set of audiences. Sony has its own type of programming which is unlike what airs on say Colors or Star Plus,” Anuj observes.
However, the actor has no fear that the channel make a take call on Chhanchhan if its numbers don’t rise soon. “They have spent lots of money on this project and will not pull the plug in a hurry. I am optimistic about the way the story is really opening up post marriage,” he adds.
“One big feedback what I have got is that viewers are loving the romantic part in the show. The creatives are also incorporating this aspect which is a good sign, for ultimately we make content for the audience,” he maintains.
When pushed to give his views on what may be going wrong in the show, Anuj, last seen in Phir Subah Hogi, says, “I do not understand the mechanism of TRPs; for me it is just a number. Sadly, a slight mistake in the same can cost a show to be taken off air. I guess the channels need a system to find out how much popular a particular show is and charge advertisers accordingly. But of late, the entire trust factor in TRP has eroded. And that puts a big question mark on efficacy of this measurement system.”
Anuj also refuses to comment on the rumour flying around that he had briefly got together with his ex-girlfriend Urvashi Dholakia. The back story is that after being in love Urvash and Anuj went separate ways. Our informer had said that Anuj was so distraught that he found solace in Buddhism.
Talking about the same, Anuj refuses to accept that he was ever in a relationship with Urvashi in the first place. “So where is the question of a break up and subsequent patch up,” he questions.
“I have a few friends with whom I interact. I am not a very social person. May be somebody saw me with someone and started assuming that we were together and when we don’t meet he/she thought we have called it a day,” Anuj moans.
When asked about the Buddhism factor, he laughs it off saying, “I have been following this religion since the last eight years and there is no connection of it to my depression. I have a spiritual connection which is very personal to talk about,” he maintains.
When we specifically asked Anuj if he was single or in a relationship, he shot back saying, “No comments.”
We wish him all the luck in the future!!!
