MUMBAI: Actor Neel Samarthh who is currently seen in Sabse Bada Rupaiya on Atrangii, will soon be seen in the web series Rose Garden believes that the acting world may look glamorous from the outside, but the inner journey is full of effort, learning, and personal growth. Speaking about the ups and downs of his career, he opens up about the hustle, staying inspired, and the changing world of storytelling.
“I don’t think the struggle ever fully ends,” Neel says honestly.
“Some things become easier with time, but each project brings new challenges. In the beginning, you struggle to get work. Later, you work hard to stay relevant. So yes, the hustle is constant—but in a good way,” he adds.
When asked if acting ever feels easy after years of experience, Neel smiles and says, “Not really. Every character has its own world, its own feelings. Even if you’ve done similar roles, each one teaches you something new. Acting never becomes easy—it stays fresh, and that’s what keeps it interesting.”
On how he keeps himself inspired during long schedules or emotionally heavy roles, Neel shares, “I try to stay in touch with real life. I read books, watch good films, or just go for a quiet walk. Sometimes doing nothing also helps. These little things bring peace and new energy,” he says.
In today’s social media-driven world, audience feedback plays a big role. But does it change how he performs? “I do read what people say, and it feels great when they love the character. But I don’t let it change my core performance. I stay true to the story and the director’s vision,” he explains.
Talking about the growing world of digital platforms and new-age storytelling, Neel adds, “This is a great time to be an actor. OTT has changed everything. Now we can play all kinds of roles and reach all kinds of audiences. It keeps me excited as a performer.”
