Time does fly, but my chemistry with Sharad Malhotra is still the same - Divyanka Tripathi

Sharad Malhotra and Divyanka Tripathi ‘packed a punch’ as the popular jodi in Zee TV’s successful show Banoo Main Teri Dulhann, so much so that rumour mills were rife about them being a couple in real life too. However, they have not been seen together in TV for some time now. But now, they get back to working together in a short film made for film festivals titled A Divorce to Remember. So how has their equation on screen changed over the years? We decided to ask the pretty damsel Divyanka… Says Divyanka, “It is a pleasure to be working with Sharad again. As you know, he has moved into films and this is one project where we could have worked together. Time does fly, but as for us, nothing has changed at all. Everything is the same – our chemistry on screen, and above all, as actors we have not changed much. It is nice to work with a person like Sharad as we do not interfere in each other’s work and give each other the required space.” Here, Divyanka adds that they have now got more respectful towards each other. “When Dulhann happened, we both were newcomers to the industry. We were still in the learning process, and had our own takes when it came to dealing with scenes and situations. But now, we have gained that experience and have grown as actors over the years. The give and take is more in us, and respect for each other has increased by leaps and bounds. Also, we have the feeling of humility wherein we respect each others’ thought process. Overall, it is fun to be shooting with Sharad.” On the short film that they have been shooting, Divyanka states, “It is a cute love story wherein Sharad plays a character who is deeply in love with a girl and can do anything for her. In fact, he is ready to marry her as she wants to seek a divorce from him so that she gets married to her ex-husband again.” So does it mean that Sharad will be the sacrificial lover in this case? “No, I cannot reveale the climax. The build-up to the climax is going to be gripping, and the storyline will probably have an abrupt ending where the viewers will have to decipher what will happen in the end.” Divyanka, it is nice to know that nothing has changed between the two of you!!!
