Time has flown by so effortlessly: Rajat Verma on Dahej Daasi completing 100 episodes

Dahej Daasi

MUMBAI: Rajat Verma, who plays Jay in Ravindra Gautam and Raghuvir Shekhawat’s Dahej Daasi, which is produced under their banner Do Dooni 4 Films, is happy that the show has completed 100 episodes. He thanked the makers, his co-actors and the audience for being so supportive.

He said, “I'm very happy that we've reached this milestone of 100 episodes. It's even more special for me because it's my first show as a lead. I'm really very grateful to the makers, the audience, and the entire team. Thanks to my co-actors and everyone involved, this journey has been so smooth that it doesn't feel like we've already reached 100 episodes, it feels like we just started yesterday.”

“Time has flown by so effortlessly because we are like a family. We eat together, sit together, chill together, play pranks, play games, and have fun while shooting, creating a very positive environment. That's why this journey of 100 episodes has gone by so smoothly. It has been a wonderful experience. I hope we continue to reach more milestones, from 100 to 200, 500, or even 1000 episodes. I'm really very grateful,” he added.

Though he can’t point to one memorable moment, he said the entire journey of 100 episodes has been memorable. He said, “It was the first time I did fight action sequences, which were really challenging. The sword fight between Jay and Chunnari was also a first for me. There have been many such memorable moments where I have felt the adrenaline rush and put in a lot of hard work, literally blood and sweat, for this show and these 100 episodes.”

“One scene that stands out is the Mother's Day scene, where Jay's sister appears in front of him after many years, and Jay realizes his mother's reality through her. Even though it was a dream sequence involving his mother, it revealed a lot about Jay's emotions and how he reacts to the revelation that his sister has been kept away from him. The way I performed in that scene was appreciated by everyone, and I received applause, which made it a memorable moment for me. It felt great to be acknowledged for my work,” he added.

Talking about the challenges he faced while shooting for the show, Rajat said, “The biggest challenge for me in this show has been the dance sequences. Sometimes you just have to go and perform. For someone like me who is a non dancer, it becomes a huge challenge.”

For instance, there was a scene recently where I had to perform the Shiv Tandav. They gave me two days to prepare after showing me a video of how it should look. Thankfully, my co-actor, who plays my sister in the show, guided me a bit on how to perform it, but I still felt quite conscious about it. Somehow, it turned out well in the end, but dance sequences remain very challenging for me on this show,” he ended.
