It’s just been a week since the show launched on Star Plus and Sach ka Saamna is already mired in controversies. The show that was launched amidst much fanfare is arguably something that has never been tried before. A show that is an adaptation of popular International show The Moment of Truth digs out personal details of the contestants’ lives. The questions definitely make the contestants uncomfortable and also have the same affect on the viewers but that’s the highlight of the show.

But it now appears that some of our parliamentarians have not ‘approved’ of the ‘obscene content’ on the show. Some of them have even demanded a ban on the show. Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni has called a meeting with broadcasters’ bodies today to discuss the issue.
When contacted, a channel official said, “The show is on as usual. We have the highest respect for Parliament and its members. We would not want to comment on any issue raised in the house.”
It may be recalled that just a few days ago MPs had protested against Balika Vadhu saying that the serial promoted child marriage. The I&B ministry later cleared the show.
Sach ka saamna which has boosted the channel’s TRPs within just the first few days since its launch may now have a saamna with the Government.
