Varun Badola shares his experience of essaying a heartbroken Amber in Mere Dad Ki Dulhan

MUMBAI : Sony Entertainment Television’s popular show Mere Dad Ki Dulhan depicts a loving relationship between a father and daughter, Amber and Niya. While the daughter is on a mission to find a suitable bride for her dad, Ambar is heartbroken in love.

It was recently revealed in the story that Ambar and Guneet are not on talking terms with each other and Guneet has moved out from Ambar’s house. Niya is also very upset with Guneet. A heartbroken Ambar disclosed his deepest feelings to his friend and recollected what happened when he revealed his identity as No_Drama_Please to Guneet. Ambar also tried to confide in Niya as he feels he has failed in matters of the heart.

For Varun, it’s a different space to portray a heartbroken lover in a show. Often people tend to dwell in these feelings so much so that they like to listen to sad songs when broken in love. Varun, who is fond of classic Hindi tracks, says, “Some of my favourite sad songs are Kya Se Kya Ho Gaya, Waqt Ne Kiya Kya Haseen Sitam and Lambi Judaai. They are not only beautifully written but also carry a soft melody. It’s true that people often wallow in despair and pain when they are heartbroken, and that’s when they feel music helps them and even heals these feelings.”

On asking about his go-to person in moments when he is sad, Varun shares, “Usually, I am aware of my emotions and know how to process it. However, in moments when I feel a little low, I like to share that with my wife Rajeshwari. She is not only my wife but my best friend who understand me the most. I am fortunate to have a found such an understanding life partner, with whom I can share all my emotions.”

Will Guneet ever forgive Amber?

Watch Varun Badola as Amber Sharma in Mere Dad Ki Dulhan, Mon-Fri at 10 pm on Sony Entertainment Television.
