Vikas Gupta’s Lost Boy Productions is all set for the screening of their first play Holi this Saturday, 22 June 2013 at Rangsharda, Bandra.
Holi written by Mahesh Elkunchwar, is the story revolving in a hostel where a group of college students gather at a room to express disappointment over not getting a holiday for Holi. What begins as a fun-filled discussion amongst friends turns out into a revolt and something much more.
The play features a bunch of talented TV stars namely Mukti Mohan, Rohan Shah, Kunal Thakkur, Mayank Gandhi, and few actors from theatre like Siddharth Gupta, Mayur More and Anuj Rawra. The play is directed by Anuj Rawra and produced by Vikas Gupta’s Lost Boy Productions. There will be an amateur music band from Delhi sharing the stage with the performers.
Quite a lot of personalities from both the big screen as well as the small screen are expected to grace the screening of Holi. We hear that Himesh Reshammiya and Tusshar Kapoor will make their presence felt in the evening. Producer Ekta Kapoor is also said to be keeping herself free for the day.
When contacted, Vikas Gupta expressed his excitement at producing his first play, “I have always believed that the most basic and honest form of storytelling is theatre and then comes in films and television. I have always wanted to be a part of theatre experience, and I still remember the days when I used to act as well as write for plays. When I got into production, theatre took a back seat. It feels nice to get the ‘feel’ of what I love doing the most.”
On the preparations for the first screening on 22 June, at Bandra, Vikas said, “The process has been quite rigorous. With the rains coming in early, we had to work towards it in a hurry and prepone the date of screening. It has been tough to meet deadlines, but there lies the beauty.”
On future plans with regards to the screening of Holi, he stated, “We are first looking forward to a good response on 22 June. We later plan to have three more shows in Mumbai after which Holi will travel to Delhi and Dehradun. We intend taking it to China and USA too in the near future. Quite a lot of people have interpreted this play in their own way, and I hope audiences like our interpretation.”
We wish the entire team of Holi a great screening over the weekend. Way to go!!!
