Vikrant Massey and Kritika Kamra come together for a short film

It’s raining ‘girl friend’ titles these days. After Chetan Bhagat’s Half Girlfriend, it’s time for ‘Best Girlfriend.’ Although the former would take time before it makes way to become a feature film, the latter is a short film directed by Navjot Gulati and stars popular TV actors Vikrant Massey and Kritika Kamra. The film is a ten minute short film to be released online on 25 October. Shot over a couple of days across Mumbai, the film deals with the hypocrisy and fragility of an urban relationship. Vikrant’s character would think he has the ‘best girlfriend’ and with his mom approving her, he would be on seventh heaven. And then one fine day a dark secret will shake the relationship completely and how the couple handle the situation will be for viewers to see. Navjot who is the writer of the upcoming movie Running Shaadi.com avers, “Before I started with my feature film next year as a director, I wanted to get my hands dirty with a short film. I had been searching for the right project for the longest time when a friend narrated this real life experience about his friend to me. The subject struck me instantly and I chose to make the film. I had two really good actors with me and that made the job much easier. The film is in its post production and we all are looking forward for its release now.” Shared Vikrant, “This is the first time that I did something like this and I must say I had a great experience. The subject is very real and I am sure people would be able to relate to it. Shooting with Kritika was also fun and I am sure our fans would love to see us together. I cannot share much for it will spoil the fun, but everyone of you should definitely watch it; it won’t disappoint you!” We tried reaching Kritika but she was unavailable.
