It’s official. Holiday has hit the bull’s eye at the box-office. Trade pundits have pegged its latest figures at an impressive 91 crore and mind you, it’s still counting. But instead of taking a much deserved holiday, we hear that producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah has buried himself in yet another project. And guess what? This one’s for the TV folks.
Yes, you heard it right. We have learnt through a highly placed source that Vipul Shah is in the process of getting into television. “Vipul is busy right now with a television series that he would be directing for Star Plus. It would be somewhat similar to 24. His other film projects will go on floor mostly after he finishes directing his television series,” informs our source.
TV is not a new territory for Vipul. His first tryst with television happened way back in 1999 when he directed the hit soap opera for Sony TV called Ek Mahal Sapno Ka. The story revolved around the life of a rich Gujarati business tycoon and made history by becoming the first Hindi fiction series to reach 1000 episodes on Indian television. Post that, Vipul kept himself busy directing and producing films emerging today as one of Bollywood’s leading producer and director.
With Holiday raking in enough moolah, we hear that a happy Vipul is now investing his creative energies towards making his second innings on television a grand success too.
When contacted, Vipul denied this development and sent us a text message saying ‘No’. Perhaps a non-disclosure clause prevented him from confirming the same. After all, it is commonplace for filmmakers to deny their association with mega scale projects till the channel officially hoists an announcement.
Star’s spokesperson too, chose not to comment on the same.
